D.L.Saunders,BFA,MA,BCET,Dipl. I'm a professional artist. I work in oils, mixed media,collage, and digital art. I've loved creating arts and crafts since I was a little kid. My work is exhibited in the US as well as internationally;it has appeared in several publications and recieved numerous awards. I have been chosen to be included in the Who's Who 2000 Outstanding 20th Century Artists & Designers. While being an artist is part of my livlihood, my art is really about my journey, the ups and downs, the joys and sorrows. It's helped me find direction when I thought I was really lost. I try to embody my emotions in my work. It can start with just a feeling; I'll come across subject matter that really touches me, that really seems to capture how I feel. Other times, I'll draw and sketch until a piece really evokes something personal for me.

I'm also a board certified expressive therapist and certified in other areas. I work with children, youth, and adults as well. I provide facilitations and consultations. The arts are just one of the mediums I use to help explore difficult issues in their lives as well as help promote self-esteem, inter/intrapersonal relations, social skills, problem solving,etc. There's a great sense of satisfaction that I get when someone comes alive and finds what they're looking for through their creative expression.

The main thing is to find your own inner paintbrush, you don't have to be an artist to express yourself. Explore your creativity, it can help you find yourself and your emotions, it can help you communicate and share your deepest thoughts and feelings.
